Idilio II was born in the Huelva region of Spain, close to the Portuguese border. His sire was a full-brother to two-time Champion of Movement of SICAB, Spain's national breed competition. Idilio's dam was the daughter of one of Spain's early Grand Prix competitors, Flamenco XII (who is also sire to France's 2011 National Champion Helio II), and derived from much-desired lines for movement from the Yeguada Marin Garcia. Idilio was first discovered in Spain in 1999 by US rider David De Wispelaere who approached Hampton Green Farm with an investment proposal. When the horse arrived in Florida in 2000 as a five year old, HGF owner Kimberly Boyer decided to buy out De Wispelaere's portion and keep the horse, a decision which eventually led to the exclusive focus of HGF as a PRE breeding and showing operation .

Imported Grand Prix Dressage Stallion - Sire of JUSTINA HGF
Grandioso III is one of an elite group of Grand Prix horses in history to compete in two Olympic Games. In 2012 in London and in 2016 in Rio de Janeiro, Grandioso represented Spain on their national Olympic Dressage Team, ridden by Spaniard Jose Daniel Martin Dockx. Together, they were twice Champion of Spain in Dressage (2012 and 2014) and, in addition to the Olympic Games, competed in the World Equestrian Games in France in 2014, as well as numerous Nations Cup teams at Aachen and European Championships.
As a competitor, Grandioso exuded class and prestige, a groundbreaker for his breed on both sides of the Atlantic, beloved by thousands who showed up for his two retirement ceremonies in Seville, Spain and Wellington, Florida. To this day, he remains one of the highest scoring PRE horses in international dressage worldwide. For the full story of Grandioso’s humble beginnings to his place in history, read more at LINK to old website archive at Hampton Green Farm.
As a breeding stallion, Grandioso produces excellent offspring, several of which have gone on to compete at international Grand Prix (including Mejorano HGF). Grandioso’s lineage is historical Marin García (Adelante/Sevillano / Albero II). Typically baroque in type, Grandioso excels for his modern movement with uphill expression and and extraordinary hind leg action. Grandioso is the rare prototype for the baroque horse with all the benefits for collected work who also displays a high level of ability for the lengthened gaits. He is a Qualified Stallion in the LG-ANNCE studbook (official studbook for the PRE horse in Spain). He is now over 20 years old, still sound and ridden at this retirement home in Florida.
